Donald Trump promised to make crypto big again and indeed he has accompanied his words with action.
He has been giving crypto advocates and bigwigs a chance in his government and Republican candidate and former college football player Bo Hines is the latest beneficiary.
Hines, who has been appointed to the commission created last month by the president-elect, will work alongside David Sacks to create and head a regulatory framework for digital assets.
Both Hines and Sacks are longtime cryptocurrency advocates and this is a boost to the digital assets industry.
Sacks was appointed last month as Trump’s AI and Crypto Czar. Trump promised to make America the crypto hub of the world and these two are now expected to spearhead the transformation.
While declaring the appointment, Trump also mentioned that Bo will work with a team of luminaries from the crypto industry.
“Bo Hines will be the Executive Director of the Presidential Council of Advisers for Digital Assets (the “Crypto Council”), a new advisory group composed of luminaries from the Crypto industry, and chaired by our Crypto Czar, David Sacks,” read part of the president’s statement on truth social.
“Together, they will create an environment where this industry can flourish, and remain a cornerstone of our Nation’s technological advancement.” he added.
The team is expected to resume office and start operations by January 20, 2025 after Trump is sworn in.
The crypto community has welcomed Trump’s latest appointments of cryptocurrency advocates into his government as this gives investors hope in the future of cryptocurrency.

He was also happy to work alongside Sacks for the betterment of the industry.
“I am thrilled to work alongside the brilliant @DavidSacks to ensure that this industry will thrive and remain a cornerstone of our Nation’s technological advancement,” Hines further said.
