How Tom Brady Could Lose Millions After FTX Crash

The frenzy that swept the crypto market at the start of the week destroyed the world’s most famous former couple.

In June of last year – Tom Brady and his (then) wife Gisele Bündchen – announced a multi-million dollar partnership with FTX receiving a promotional prize in exchange for becoming brand ambassadors.

Despite not stating how much money they put into the exchange, the couple served as influential figures that helped promote FTX.

The couple was said to have actually invested their wealth in FTX, which could lead to serious monetary losses following the exchange’s crisis.

As of right now, neither of them has made any public pronouncements concerning the platform’s problems.

Bündchen and Brady Became The Face of FTX

Aside from announcing a partnership to serve as the FTX’s leader of environmental and social initiatives, Brady and Gisele also became “poster boys” for the then 7th-largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world.

At the Crypto Bahamas 2022 conference, the Brazilian model joined Sam Bankman-Fried to announce the launch of the first print advertising campaign “I’m in” — as well as a billion-dollar donation to charity.

“At the end of the day, the Earth doesn’t belong to us. We’re just here in passage,” Gisele Büngchaen said during the Bahamas Cryptocurrency Conference, talking about her partnership with FTX. “I think it’s really important to think about what we’re leaving behind. The fact is, we’re all going to have an impact in this world.”

Since then, the power couple starred in advertisement campaigns where they promoted the purchase of cryptocurrencies on the exchange.

In the advertisements, which were broadcasted in videos as well as in various magazines such as Vogue, GQ, Vanity Fair, and The New Yorker, the couple discusses how they became involved with cryptocurrency and how using FTX may help to change the world.

In collaboration with Bündchen, FTX committed to donating up to $1 billion to social causes by 2022 through the “FTX Climate” and “FTX Community” funds. But after the recent news, it would be smart to not hold on to that promise.

Tom Brady Became a Crypto Enthusiast

Brady has already been involved in the crypto world for some time.

Earlier this year, the all-time great quarterback helped with the creation of the NFT firm Autograph, which made non-fungible tokens for the NFL.

He was one of several celebrities who got on the crypto bandwagon in 2021 when blockchain bulls were claiming that the value of cryptocurrency would only rise.

During last year’s Super Bowl, Brady appeared in an ad with Matt Damon for Crypto.com called “Fortune Favors the Brave.”
