When you think of the Chicago Bulls, you can never forget NBA Hall of Famer, Scottie Pippen. Some say he was the most skilled basketball player ever. Playing alongside Michael Jordan and Dennis Rodman, he achieved 6 NBA championships. And while the name “6 Rings” is taken, there’s another name being put on Non-Fungible Tokens from a Bulls’ GOAT. Scottie Pippen is launching his SP33 NFT collection on December 20th, complete with real sneakers for fans.
The official name of the sneaker NFT project is the “SP33 Collection.” 1000 shoes will be minted for metaverse users. The footwear will be designed by artists and developers together, to be worn in any web3 ecosystem a user can venture into.
What Comes With The NFT?
33 of the 1000 NFTs sold will come with a physical pair of sneakers, matching the NFT design. These shoes will be complete with a hand-signed autograph from the NBA legend himself.
And to complete the trifecta, a 3rd prize comes with the 33 NFTs that come with sneakers. A Mystery Box will also accompany these sneakers, that’s said to be ‘something special.’
The 33 NFTs that come with physical sneakers are part of a bigger metaverse idea. That plan is yet to be shared by the brainchild of the project, Orange Comet.
SP33 stands for Scottie Pippen and his retired Bulls number. ‘Pip’ wore the #33 his entire career with the Chicago Bulls. It was sent into the rafters of the NBA Team’s United Center arena on December 8th in 2005.
How To Buy Scottie Pippen’s SP33 NFT
“We think that we’re bringing something different, something special, something awesome to the marketplace,” Pippen said to CoindeskTV on his move into the Metaverse. He continued, “We feel like we’re the trailblazers, even though we’re not the first ones out of the gate.”
The ‘Allowlist’ registration for the SP33 NFT collection is currently open on Orange Comet’s official website. It will close on December 15th.
